About Tristan
As a photographer/graphic designer based in Brisbane, I have over 10 years of experience working in various capacities within the creative industries. Having grown up as a skateboard kid in the 90’s, I developed a passion for bold photography and graphic design styles that were prevalent in skateboard magazines and advertising of the time.
My history within the creative industries began when I started work as a junior screen printer for a T-shirt company in my early 20’s. I wanted to create my own images for screen printing so I started studying graphic design while in this role. Recognising the value and skill-set I had attained, the company promoted me to Graphic Designer where I worked for 7 years. Early on while designing T-shirts for screen printing, I realised the importance and impact of clean and simple designs based on solid composition fundamentals.
My background in design continues to inform and shape my approach to photography. This understanding has helped my creative eye navigate through the endless creative photography possibilities that inspire me. I love to add an edge of grit, mood and vibrance to my images, while still managing to deliver a variety of styles effectively.
Moving forward as a Photographer/Designer I provide combined services of photography and Graphic Design, offering a unique opportunity to actualise my clients’ creative needs in-house. I go above and beyond to create unique images and creative solutions for my clients.
When I’m not shooting or editing images, I am usually building or painting new projects to shoot. I still occasionally head down to the skatepark for exercise and take my sidekick dog Ryu along for the ride.
